LITURGY CORNER
Novena—what is it? A novena is a prayer with a specific intention offered nine days in a row. At St. John the Baptist we offer a novena for special occasions, such as, for example, for our mothers following Mother’s Day, and we will do one for our fathers following Father’s Day. We pray as a community for the special intentions of special people.
Receiving Communion—wait your turn
At time of Communion, please remain in your pew, either kneeling or seated, until the row in front of you is completely in the aisle. By doing this, you allow yourself more time to remain in prayer, and you assist those who might be unable to stand for any length of time to remain in their places a few extra moments. Thank you for your consideration.
